Stoptober, the annual, 4 week long stop smoking challenge, is back for its 6th year. The campaign starts today (the 1st of October) and we want to get people to sign up.
What is Stoptober?
Stoptober was first launched back in 2012, as part of a government campaign to stop people from smoking for a month. This is because, if someone gives up smoking for a month, they are five times more likely to stop smoking for good. To date, over a million people have stopped smoking thanks to Stoptober, more than any other quit smoking campaigns.
What are the benefits of not smoking?
Quitting smoking can improve your health significantly and even increase your life expectancy. Without smoking, breathing can be much easier, as tar doesn't clog the arteries or damage the lungs. This can also improve the health of your loved ones, who are not breathing in second hand smoke anymore. Smoking can also improve your life financially. If you're not smoking, you have more money from not buying cigars to spend. If you smoke one packet a day, stopping smoking can save you £250 a month.
What do I do if I still have cravings?
You can always use e-cigarettes to stop you from getting cravings. E-cigarettes allow you to inhale vapour with nicotine in, rather than tobacco smoke. Experts say that vaping is at least 95% less harmful than smoking cigarettes, giving a great improvement to your health. You can get e-cigarettes and e-liquids from any vape shop (Why not have some Moreish Puff?). The benefit of this is e-liquids can vary in flavour, giving you a much nicer experience.
Where can I find more information on this subject?
Check out the NHS website for more information on the benefits of stop smoking, and ways to cope with it. https://www.nhs.uk/oneyou/for-your-body/quit-smoking/stoptober/ Look through our website for different e-liquids you can get. And have a nice day.
